February 8 meeting
The meeting will begin with in-person lunch at Audrey's and Greg's house, with lunch prepared by Audrey, from 12:20-1 PM. Lunch will be followed by a hybrid in-person/Zoom book discussion from 1-2 PM.

On the eve of America’s World War II internment of its Japanese residents, a 12-year-old Chinese-American boy falls in love with a Japanese-American girl. The boy’s Chinese nationalist father does not approve. The boy must also deal with racist bullying by his white classmates and detention by the U.S. government of his sweetheart and her family.
