Becoming a B’nei Mitzvah is a joyful, meaningful rite of passage that our congregation celebrates with the families of adult members and their children. AARC B’nei Mitzvahs blend new traditions with the old in the spirit of Reconstructionist Judaism. Most often members choose to hold the event on Shabbat at the JCC.
AARC’s B’nei Mitzvah Program
Throughout the year, students will explore the meaning and responsibilities of becoming B’nei Mitzvah, deepen their connection to prayer and Torah, learn basic trope patterns and reflect on how Jewish tradition speaks to their own lives. Together students will practice Hebrew, craft a D’var Torah, and design meaningful B’nei Mitzvah projects—building skills, community, and confidence for this important milestone.
